A Meeting of Gentlemen was held this evening in the Traquair Arms Hotel, in reply to a circular sent out by Messrs. I Kidd Brown and Haig for the purpose of forming a Golf Club. The Right Honourable The Earl of Wemyss, Gossford House, Longniddry.

- Lord Lionel Cecil of Orchardmains.
- Honourable H.C. Maxwell Stuart of Traquair.
- Major Evans of Holylee.
- Walter Thorburn,'Esq. of Kerfield. M.P.
- George Miller Cunningham, Esq. of Leithen.
- M.G. Thorburn, Esq. of Glenormiston.
- Captain C.R.K. Ferguson of Caerlee.
- I. Duncan Smith of Ferneyside

Mr. J. Kidd Brown, being called to the chair, explained that having sent out circulars to those whom he thought it likely would feel inclined to take part in the formation of a Golf Club for Innerleithen, he was glad to say that he had met with a very hearty response, the following gentlemen having agreed to become Patrons of the Club:

It was agreed to form a Club to be called "The Innerleithen Golf Club" with the above names as Patrons.
