Hole 3 - Pirn Craig
Yards: 429 (White) | 408 (Yellow) | 399 (Red)
Par: 4 (Men) | 5 (Ladies) SI: 4 (White) | 5 (Red) One of the toughest par 4s in the Borders, with spectacular views from the tee. To the right, a hill covered in gorse and thick rough is a constant threat, trees near the fairway mean you often can't see whether your ball has made it — provisionals are common here. A burn crosses the fairway and can catch shorter second shots. Another burn runs along the left of the green, punishing any approach that is long or left. The green has the 1st tee as a grandstand adding pressure to your putts.. Hole 12
Yards: 475 (White) | 408 (Yellow) | 399 (Red)
Par: 4 (Men) | 5 (Ladies) SI: 1 (White) | 6 (Red) The white tee in summer is set significantly further back, making this green unreachable in two for all but the longest hitters. All the same hazards apply — and with the extra yardage, they feel even more unforgiving. |
